Dori Makes Good on Comeback Promise
March 31, 2018 Charlestown, RI USA
Dori Aleksandrowicz crashed badly in June 2017 ending her first season with Team BFSC. It took 2 months for her doctor to give the Ok to return to training and she has had her head down and the sweat pouring ever since.
The work paid off on Saturday when Lisa and Dori started the first US race of 2018 for Team BFSC. It turned out to be a beautiful day with some brisk winds down at Ninigret Park. A field of 21 Cat 4/5 racers and 18 Cat 1.2.3 riders started a minute apart on the well know Ninigret race course, a .87 mile 6 turn closed loop in Charlestown RI. The race stayed together unit the Cat 1 group started to lap the Cat 4/5 group. During the confusing mingling of groups for half a lap, there were a group of 7 riders off the front of the 4/5 group. The remaining Cat 4 riders didn’t figure it out until it was too late. Lisa and Dori were not able to catch the lead group but Dori went on to win the sprint in her group securing 8th place overall. A big smile showed she was very happy with her performance. On to Brumble Kermese next weekend… Maybe even Mystic Velo?
It is nice to have her back!
