38th Annual Concord Criterium – Loraine Warner is 3rd Cat 4 , 4th overall
August 4, 2018 Concord, NH.
. Dori Aleksandrowicz, Lisa Berger and Loraine Warner pushed off just as the rain came down hard. It was a Cat 4/5 and 55+ open race and Susan McDonough, a cat 2 pushed the pace pretty hard. Loraine’s solid cornering skills kept her in the front 5 throughout the race. Dori worked hard on the last lap to get Loraine to the front entering the last turns and Loraine sprinted for 4th with Dori a few yards behind in 5th. Lisa placed 13th overall.
“It was tough conditions in an already technical course, deluge just before the women 4/5 start had us all soaked before we even began, then rain continued for about half the race making visibility extremely difficult. Despite that, I managed to execute my plan exactly as I’d hoped, getting in the front just at the last technical downhill and stayed there until just after the final corner. Sadly I didn’t have enough in the tank to hold position and 3 women charged around me to take the podium spots, leaving me with 4th. My proudest moment however, was when they announced that I had been crowned as “Most Savage Rider” complete with a bag of prizes!! Shout out to my teammates Lisa and Dori, who challenged their comfort zones to come out and support me during this tough, highly technical race!!! You ladies are awesome!!!” ?❤️ #SavageRider #BestTeamEver
