Fitchburg July 1, 2019

The challenge? 3 races in 7 days in 95 degree heat! This was not in Belize but Massachusetts for the 2018 Criterium week. Team BFSC riders, Dori and Loraine, were the Team’s representatives for the Greenfield Crit, the Fitchburg Crit and the Leominster Crit. What did they come back with? 5 top 10 finishes with
1 victory, 1 5th place, and 2 seventh places.

Dori racked up her first podium of her career with an exciting win in the Leominster Crit by attacking on the first corner of the final lap. No one had the answer and she rounded the final corner with a 40 meter lead on the rest of the peloton and won in a convincing fashion. Loraine was awesome with 7th place with a great sprint finish. The next day in Fitchburg the ladies tried to repeat but there were some fresh riders who did not race the other 2 races. Despite a heroic lead-out by Loraine the uphill finish was tough and Dori finished 5th with Loraine a strong 10th (remarkable after a lead-out.)

Future Team BFSC Riders Maddie and Coby were giving Team BFSC some promotional time with announcers of the race and ringing the final lap bell at Leominster and Fitchburg.

Exciting times with a few more races to look forward to and then on to cross season!
